Debut novel

Abril Evans: Human or Mermaid?

EXAMPLE — Abril is fifteen, and she carries a question no one can answer. The sea calls her by name, and on dry land she has never quite fitted in. A story about finding out who you are when the world keeps deciding it for you.

What you will find here

Fantasy with its feet on the ground

Impossible worlds used to speak about very real things: fear, belonging, and the courage not to fit in.

Heroines who carry the story

Women who do not wait to be rescued. Because it is women who give everything in life, and they deserve characters equal to that.

To be read at any age

Written for a girl of eight and for a woman of ninety. The need to believe in something has no age.

I am a doctor of medicine, but I also want to heal the soul, and give the world back the imagination and creativity we are losing.

About me

I was born in Florida, Camagüey, in 1979. I grew up among books, chessboards and horror films. I am a doctor of medicine, and I write because there is something no consulting room can heal.
